  • David Graham - CEO

    David Graham

    David formed David Graham & Associates (DGA) in 1990 to develop data and research services for independent TV and film producers in the UK. The company became Attentional Ltd in 2007.

    David’s career in broadcasting began in Toronto, Canada and continued at the BBC, where David was a producer in the Current Affairs department of BBC Network Television. In 1980, David founded Diverse Production Limited, an independent production company, which supplied current affairs programmes to Channel Four.

    David was educated at the Universities of Bristol and Indiana. He is a member of The Royal Television Society and has been awarded a medal for Outstanding Services to Television.

  • Zak Shaikh - Head of US Consultancy

    Zak Shaikh

    Zak is Managing Director of the US arm of Attentional. His expertise lies in content analysis. He works closely with research and development executives, analysing scripts, treatments, filmed shows and marketing and promotional materials. Zak also specialises in monitoring the latest trends in the American film and TV markets. He is currently in the middle of a long-term contract with NBC Universal, applying high-end evaluation tools that aid the development of new content (scripted shows, films, and reality programmes).

    After graduating from the LSE with a First in Economics and Government, Zak worked as an analyst at Goldman Sachs in their Private Client team. He then went to the University of Southern California’s prestigious film school, where he completed his Masters degree. While in Los Angeles, Zak has worked for Dreamworks SKG’s Story Development team, HBO’s Film & Miniseries Production team and recently attended Fox’s Associates Fellowship Program.

  • Dr. Farid El-Husseini - Head of UK Consultancy

    Dr Farid El-Husseini

    Farid leads Attentional’s consultancy division and has extensive research and project management experience with a particular focus on economic and statistical modelling and forecasting.

    Recent work has included: the development of an EPG-change risk assessment model to predict the viewing impact of different channel portfolio repositioning options; building a channel performance forecasting model to predict the impact of various future television scenarios; and a multivariate analysis comparing the cost efficiency of originated programming across a group of leading broadcasters.

    Farid joined Attentional in 2002 after completing his PhD in Economics at the University of Bristol, prior to which he received MSc and MA (Hons) degrees in Economics from the Universities of Bristol and Edinburgh respectively. Farid’s PhD Thesis won the Joseph Dorfman Prize, awarded annually by the US based History of Economics Society, for the best dissertation on the History of Economics.

  • Fiona Keene - Senior Analyst

    Fiona Keene

    Fiona joined Attentional in 2002 as head of the Metadata department. She now oversees the delivery of all Attentional’s TV Ratings services, including daily overnights, the AQUA research engine, the Screenwatch blog, and their client serevice platform, www.overnights.tv. She also supervises the logging of all UK terrestrial transmissions and is responsible for the addition of Attentional’s proprietary coding system, creating an extensive resource for statistical analysis. This has provided the basis for projects looking at areas such as independent production, UK-originated programming and measuring the levels of PSB programming.

    Prior to joining Attentional, Fiona worked as Production Manager for Telemagination, one of the UK’s leading animation companies. During her 12 years with the company, she worked on The Animals of Farthing Wood and Noah’s Island, two multi-million pound projects for the European Broadcasting Union. She has also worked as Chief Sub-Editor on the television section of The Sunday Times. Fiona has a joint honours degree in English and Philosophy from Leeds University.

  • Jay Blaskey - Media Economist

    Jay Blaskey

    Jay started working at Attentional in 2011 using his economic and financial modeling skills to support strategic consultancy projects. The types of projects Jay has worked on include forecasting the revenue impact for a distributor considering entering the Latin American production sector, right through to financial valuations of creative properties.

    Jay is originally from Manchester, England and attended Liverpool University where he studied Computer Science. After receiving his bachelors he worked at IBM as a management consultant working specifically in New Media solutions for clients in various industries.

    Jay moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA’s highly acclaimed Anderson School for his MBA, specializing in Entertainment finance and strategy. In Los Angeles Jay has worked with various entertainment companies including Fox Filmed entertainment, Mosaic Media, Lionsgate and International Creative Management. For these companies Jay has performed strategic planning and financial analysis as well as valuation services specific to the unique intellectual property assets found in the entertainment industry.

    Zara Randera

    Zara recently graduated from The University of Southern California in Psychology and minored in Cinema and Television. She is currently being trained in the Attention System to become a member of Attention’s Evaluation team.

    She supports the US office on consultancy projects and is a key member of our International Research team. She also runs bespoke consumer study surveys in the US markets, providing companies with comprehensive reports that include statistical analysis, recommendations and projections.

    Tina Hill

    Tina graduated with honours from the University of Chester in 2008 with a BA in Media (Television Production). As a Programming Analyst for the company, Tina is on hand to help with queries you may have on BARB data and provides support to users of our unique data analysis tool, AQUA. She produces regular reports for a range of clients and is responsible for researching and creating a weekly report, detailing the new and returning television series, which is distributed to over 100 clients.

    Audrey Migot

    Audrey, who is a Kenyan national, joined Attentional in 2011 using her three years of experience as a TV buyer to provide support in terms of data analysis, marketing and new business. After graduating from Edinburgh University with a 2:1 in Business Studies and Spanish, Audrey worked briefly as a sales consultant for Meltwater News before joining Feather Brooksbank (now Carat Edinburgh) as a buyer in the broadcast department.
