Fiona joined Attentional in 2002 as head of the Metadata department. She oversees the logging of all UK terrestrial transmissions and is responsible for the addition of Attentional’s proprietary Microgenre® coding system, creating an extensive resource for statistical analysis. This has provided the basis for projects looking at areas such as independent production, UK-originated programming and measuring the levels of PSB programming.
Prior to joining Attentional, Fiona worked as Production Manager for Telemagination, one of the UK’s leading animation companies. During her 12 years with the company, she worked on The Animals of Farthing Wood and Noah’s Island, two multi-million pound projects for the European Broadcasting Union. She has also worked as Chief Sub-Editor on the television section of The Sunday Times. Fiona has a joint honours degree in English and Philosophy from Leeds University.
