DMOL has finalised plans for a reorganistion of its EPG to include a local TV slot at No 8, and 20 new HD slots.  There will also be a new section for IPTV channels.

DEBUTS

Simply Italian is a Fresh One series that shows viewers how to make simple and authentic Italian food, starting with home-made pasta and a classic bolognese sauce.  The four-part run, presented by Michela Chiappa, began at 8.30pm on C4 and tempted 838,800 (3.4%) away from the Olympic coverage on BBC channels.  This gave a Performance Index of 49.7.  C4+1 boosted the total to the tune of 189,820 (0.8%), taking the number of viewers over the 1m mark.

Monkey Life returned to C5 at 6pm for the fifth season of programmes about the life of staff and animals at Monkey World.  At the site in Dorset, apes rescued from the smuggling trade, or who have been subject to abuse, are given a home, cared for and rehabilitated.  When the series first aired on Animal Planet, in August/September 2011, it drew excellent audiences of 59,700 (0.35%) in a slot that averaged a Share of 0.06%.  It began its C5 transmissions at 6pm with a creditable 464,480 viewers (2.5%), and a Performance Index of 110.1.
