Attentional Content

A key question for Content Strategy is: Will It Work?

Attentional uses proprietary techniques to evaluate ideas, treatments, scripts, pilots and promotions. The Attention System draws on statistical models, neuroscience and evolutionary psychology. We do not take over the creative process. Instead we provide a knowledge base from the frontiers of science that is constantly growing.

The benefit: a new perspective on the key ingredients of good narratives, increased confidence and reduced development risk. Lead Consultant: Zak Shaikh.

Attentional Strategy

Good content is not enough. Content Strategy includes Optimising Release and Maximising Profitability. Attentional uses proprietary metadata and advanced statistical techniques to build powerful predictive models and resolve key media content strategy issues. For example, one model optimises electronic programme guide (EPG) positioning, another aims to optimise release patterns. These techniques have been successfully applied in multiple media markets.

The sale and distribution of content is a global business. To Maximise Profitability Attentional creates market models and builds market studies for all key global territories, addressing questions such as: Who should I work with? What is the best release pattern for this market? What revenues will my content earn here? How do I maximise that revenue? For investors and rights owners, we value all types of media assets. Lead Consultant: Jay Blaskey.

Attentional Ratings

Attentional’s UK TV Ratings service uses industry-standard BARB data, delivered daily by email to clients around the world. As of 2012 we also provide US data via our partnership with Rentrak, giving access to over 6 million set-top boxes and allowing for a high granularity of data. Whether you’re a broadcaster who has acquired American programmes, a producer or distributor with a vested interest in the U.S. market, or simply a keen observer, we now provide customized and regular reports on the world’s largest TV market. Current and prospective users may purchase data round the clock, using our www.overnights.tv delivery platform. Our weekly ScreenWatch blogs (covering the US and UK) and New and Returning Report are both available free of charge.
